Magda Danysz is a Paris based art dealer. Magda Danysz started in the art business in the early 90, when she opened her first art space in 1991 as she was still a student. She has studied at the ESSEC French business school and made student exchanges at the Osaka International University in 1995 and the Buenos Aires University in 1998. Then after graduating from in 1998, she followed and opened her gallery as it is now in July 1999, celebrating this year her gallery 10 years. Through the years she has shown artists from various horizons, from street art to digital art for instance. A few talents she has discovered can be named as Shepard Fairey (who did Barack Obama’s official portrait for the presidential campaign), JonOne, Seen, Miss Van, Erwin Olaf, Ultralab, etc. She has also participated to many art fairs around the world from Bologna in Italy to Brussels, New York, Miami, etc. In June 2009 she has been appointed to direct the iconic building's Bund 18 gallery in Shanghai, China and has published an extensive anthology about street art entitled " From style writing to art" published by DRAGO.
Conjunctly to the first years of her gallery she has pursued a consulting career with Arthur Andersen from 1997 to 2004 where she was consultant for the French retail group Carrefour and had various jobs in the cultural field as the Ministry of Culture, Christie’s, the Theatre Marigny, the Nantes Museum, the Louvre, etc.
Since 2001 Magda Danysz teaches cultural policies and economics at Sciences Po in Paris.
She is also on the board of the multimedia cultural art center Le Cube in Issy-les-Moulineaux appointed by the city mayor André Santini to promote digital art and research.
Magda Danysz is also one of the founder, in 2006 of the Paris based contemporary art fair ShowOff held every year at the same time as FIAC.
In 2007, she has been decorated by the French ministry of culture as a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
Since January 2009 she is also vice president of the Fashion Group International of Paris.
In 2010 she has contributed tovthe launch of the Ai Ling Foundation for the arts in Shanghai, China.
